Do You YouTube? What you view may be at risk.

Ruling from a federal judge in New York has ordered Google (owner of YoutTube) to provide Viacom, Inc (owner of Comedy Central, VH1, and Nickelodeon) with its viewing data. This data will be used in the copyright-infringement lawsuit that Viacom filed against Google last year. Viacom is arguing that YouTube provides access to more copyrighted videos than amateur videos. Google is arguing that this ruling ignores the protection of the Video Privacy Protection Act and that when ordered to supply the data, they will ask to make the logs anonymous in order to protect viewer's privacy rights. Click YouTube ordered to hand over viewing data to read the full article.

Is the Grand Canyon actually a teenager?

A team of researchers published an article in the journal Science today that claims the Grand Canyon is actually 17 million years old, as opposed to 5 – 6 million years old. Victor Polyak and his team used new lab techniques to test the level of uranium-lead in the rock structures, often climbing dangerously up the side of the canyon. Other scientists are skeptical. What do you think?

Read the Washington Post article and the Science report.

"German experts crack Mona Lisa smile"

For centuries scholars and art historians have disputed whether the model of the famous painting “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci was his lover, the wife of a wealthy merchant, or even himself. It now seems that the case has been cracked. Read more from the experts at the Heidlburg Univeristy library in the Washington Post.com article.
